Longer waiting queues for PGIMER Chandigarh patients

Post-Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh is witnessing overloads of patients and choking in the institute with shortage of space to stand with the increasing days. According to figures provided by the PGI administration, on average, around 9,500 patients visit the OPDs every day. In 2018, the total number of patients in the OPDs was  28,69150 which was 26,84,508 in 2017. Patient rush in huge numbers has resulted into Doctors falling into depression and putting  pressure on healthcare infrastructure of the institute.
